Rainbownet was born out of the yearning to meet the ICT needs of the people of the South East. Having observed at the turn of the century that there was no Internet Service Provider in the entire South East of Nigeria, there was a glaring absence of standard cyber café in Enugu particularly, the few that existed charged exorbitantly, and service was slow and epileptic and Telephone services were deplorable.

Hence the need to give the people of the South East their own, a key player in the ICT industry with an international stature was ignited. Today this inspiration has come to fruition.

The rainbow in “Rainbownet” epitomizes the hopes and dreams of the founders of the company, aspiration for a company that stands out in the crowd by the sheer quality of its product/services and customer relationship.

Rainbownet – The Company

Rainbownet Limited is a licensed Private Telecommunication Operator with services in the South East and licensed for South South geopolitical zones. It is a privately –owned Nigerian company promoted by a group of Nigerians with similar interests. We combine state-of-the-art CDMA2000 1x and S-CDMA Air-interface technology on the 800MHz and 3.5Ghz frequency bands to provide reliable and cost effective mobile and fixed-wireless telephone Services.

The company started as an ISP in 2000 and launched its telephone network in 2003 to address the low telephone penetration in the South East of Nigeria. It has since begun the process of preparing to extend its services to other regions of Nigeria to increase the teledensity of the country by offering unmatched quality of service to the markets.

Our services and product offerings are customer delight and we are the first and only PTO to operate seamlessly on two frequencies (3.5GHz and 800MHz) in Nigeria. This has enabled us create competitive and varied service offerings for the customers. Our product offerings are voice, data and Internet, with affordable tariffs.

Our technical partners include Stratex Networks, Huawei Technologies of China and several others.

The voice clarity of our phones, connectivity, good coverage, lower cost of staying mobile, the data speed and the world in the homes and offices through internet services are values to behold. Our portfolio of products and pricing have a vertical appeal to the market while we offer telephones and Value Added Services to the target markets of South East, currently and deployment in the South South, has commenced as we await further opportunities to increase our footprint under the ULR (Unified License Regime).
